BIO & CV

Christina Kyriazidi is a Berlin-based cultural entrepreneur, theatremaker, poet, playwright, screenwriter, musician, and radio producer, as well as the founder of several international initiatives and art projects.

​

She was formed as an actress and playwright in Greece and the UK (University of Exeter), and she has worked as a dramaturge, director, and performer in Greece, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Ireland, Argentina, Brazil, and NYC. In 2024, her solo performance "OBLIVION" was awarded in New York by the United Solo Festival, the largest festival of solo performances in the world, as the "Best International Show".

She is also an accordionist, composer, and songwriter.

​

She collaborated with Odin Teatret group in the productions UR-HAMLET (Italy, Denmark, Poland, 2006-2009) and The Marriage of Medea (Denmark, 2008), directed by Eugenio Barba.

 

In 2010, she founded in Berlin the international theatre group Marinaio Teatro and a year later, the itinerant theatre festival KNOTS - Exchange Meeting of Theatre Groups with editions so far in Berlin, Buenos Aires, La Paz, and São Paolo.

She has given workshops as a theatre educator for children and adolescents in Greece, Germany, Argentina, and Brazil, and in 2013, she founded the L A B [Laboratory Actors Berlin], a platform for training, research, and creation for young actors.

​

As a playwright, she was awarded by the "Greek National Union of Writers" for her play AUTUMN MEETING (2002), while her play FOREST UNDER THE SEA (2013) was produced by the Brazilian Ministry of Culture in 2015, and toured in Brazil in 2016, through the award of "FUNARTE". Her play The Mutes was awarded as one of the most influential plays by young playwrights on the European Crisis, by the "PIIGS Festival 2016 - Dramaturgia Sobre la Crisi" and published in Catalan by the above festival. Her fiction feature screenplay FOREST UNDER THE SEA was awarded by the 3rd International Epidaurus Film Festival in 2024. Her plays have been produced in Greece, Germany, Brazil, and Spain, and her poetry has been published in Greece.

 

With her initiative STORY FOR FOOD, she audio collects undocumented stories and runs several storytelling activities in the city of Berlin, live monthly radio shows, and podcast Stories in Berlin. She is also the founder of the International Storytelling & Performing Arts Festival We Love Stories in Chania, Crete.
